一、將器材放進柜里。有人出于裝飾和保護，將器材放進定做的柜子里，這會因柜內空間所引起的潛振使音色渾濁，功放等器材由于沒有足夠的流通空氣，易過熱、老化。如把音箱裝入墻壁，會使聲音效果變得生硬。
1、 Put the equipment in the cabinet. 二、疊放器材。很多人愛將影碟機、放大器、調諧器、數碼模擬轉換器等機器重疊放置，這會引起互相干擾，尤其是鐳攝機與功放干擾嚴重，會使音色偏硬及產生壓抑感。正確的做法是將器材放在由廠方設計的音響架上。
2、 Stacking equipment. 三、電源插頭正負不分。電源插頭正負處理的好的系統，音色層次分明，自然順暢;正負不一致或參差不齊，音色會偏硬粗糙。

四、接線不牢與不潔。如果系統音色干硬，其中一個原因可能是接觸不良，如插頭不牢、接觸面氧化、沾上灰塵或油污等，所以應該經常檢查，保持接觸面清潔。

六、音箱的擺放“因地制宜”。有人因室內先有了其他家具，而將音箱擺放位置遷就家具。正確的應先決定聆聽距離，然后將音箱擺到座位與對面墻間的1/3處，音箱的間距為聆聽者與音箱直接距離的0.7倍，高度以聆聽者耳朵和高音單元齊平為好。
